Family Campsite in Périgord Vert: Discover La Chatonnière
La Chatonnière is a 3-star campsite located in the Dordogne, near the village of Jumilhac-le-Grand. This region, known as the “Périgord Limousin Regional Natural Park”, was granted Regional Natural Park status due to its exceptional character, both in its landscape and its nature.
Set in a wooded area, we offer 58 pitches, including 9 mobile homes, as well as 2 safari tents and 2 mobilodges. Our campsite prioritises space, tranquillity, and a friendly atmosphere to offer everyone a true holiday in the heart of nature. Numerous activities on-site or nearby are also available. Not to mention the river, with its sandy beach directly at the foot of the pitches and mobile homes, perfect for cooling off all summer long.

Our Services at La Chatonnière Campsite
For several years, our family has been welcoming holidaymakers with the desire to preserve the authentic and friendly spirit of camping. We prioritise a personalised welcome and remain available throughout your stay. Our family campsite offers you the chance to stay in a relaxing place where everything is designed to ensure you have a pleasant holiday with family, friends, or as a couple.
One of our three sanitary blocks is also adapted for people with reduced mobility.
Our River for Swimming
A true asset of the campsite, the River Isle runs directly alongside the estate. Its natural sandy beach allows children to play with ease, while adults enjoy a refreshing swim in a preserved setting. A privileged spot to reconnect with nature.
For the more active, canoeing, kayaking, or a small personal boat will allow you to explore the surroundings at the river’s pace, when water levels permit. Fishing enthusiasts can also enjoy this privileged setting to pursue their passion in peace.
Green Spaces & Relaxation Activities
Our Périgord Vert estate offers numerous leisure activities for the whole family to make your stay unforgettable. Children can have fun in our three play areas spread across different parts of the campsite, equipped with trampolines, slides, swings, and ping-pong tables. Older guests can also enjoy a badminton and beach volleyball court, an outdoor fitness area, and a boules pitch, ideal for sharing convivial moments with family or friends in the heart of nature.
A warm communal room, also called the Relaxation Area, remains accessible to all in case of inclement weather. It houses a television, a billiards table, a foosball table, and a free-access library, for the enjoyment of both young and old. A selection of board games are available free of charge at reception to enhance your moments of relaxation and conviviality.
Here are other gems to discover on-site:
- Children particularly enjoy our mini-farm where they can observe and discover different animals during their walks around the campsite.
- For your outings, the campsite offers electric bike rental (subject to reservation and availability).
- Our shared vegetable garden allows holidaymakers to freely pick aromatic herbs and seasonal vegetables to enhance their summer meals.
Although the campsite does not have a snack bar or bar, our grocery shop offers a wide selection of local products, cold drinks, ice creams, preserves, and grilled items. To fully enjoy your purchases, several areas with garden furniture and picnic tables are at your disposal in the campsite park, an ideal setting for sharing an outdoor meal in the heart of nature. Every evening, we also offer a takeaway food service with pizzas, chips, and nuggets. Orders must be placed before 6 pm at reception to enjoy a simple and friendly meal during your holiday in the Dordogne.
At reception, a small convenience store stocks all your essential products. Furthermore, you can enjoy fresh bread and warm pastries every morning by simply reserving the day before (before 7 pm).
