Campsite “La Chatonnière” ***
“A small green campsite”

Our campsite*** (58 pitches) is located in a quiet area of the Dordogne not far from the border with the Limousin. Because of its exceptional character, both in terms of its landscape and its nature, this region has been granted the status of Regional Nature Park, and is called: “Parc Naturel Régional Périgord Limousin”.

Camping ‘La Chatonnière’ is located near the village of Jumilhac-le-Grand (1300 inhabitants).

Tents and mobile homes can be rented here.

The impressive castle of Jumilhac-le-Grand is a stop on the way of the castles of “Richard the Lionheart“. You will find Jumilhac-le-Grand on the map halfway between Limoges and Périgueux.

La Chatonnière’s Campsite***

Swimming in the river with its own beach.
From the campsite, you can do canoeing or kayaking on the river “l’Isle” which runs alongside the campsite. Bike hire.  Walks and hikes. Fishing.

The village of Jumilhac is close by: you will find shops and you can also visit the castle.
In July and August, you can take advantage of the many activities available in the area around La Chatonnière*** campsite:
Archery, Climbing, Tree climbing, Cluedo, Orpaillage, Paddle, Circus art, Abseiling, Visit of a goat farm.
You will find all the programmes of activities at the tourist office of Jumilhac Le Grand.

Accueil Camping la Chatonnière

A playground is available for the little ones. They can play safely in a shallow and safe part of the river. The beach is suitable for all kinds of games.

Older children can enjoy all the possibilities offered by the river: swimming, fishing and boat trips.

The campsite has a « pétanque » and a room with a television, table tennis, pool table and babyfoot.

The area around the campsite is nice for walking, with many beautiful hiking trails. Cycling is also a good way to discover the area, but the region is hilly, so a good level of fitness is required.

Camping La Chatonnière is equipped with sanitary facilities for people with reduced mobility.
